2017 European Championship

15 & 16 JULY

Incarace are proud to present the 2017 F2 European Championship this coming weekend, 15th and 16th July, at Northampton International Raceway.

As outlined in the F2 Rule Book, the European Championship race on Sunday will consist of the top 16 – 20 points scoring U.K. mainland registered drivers as at 20th June (i.e. the July grading list) who have booked in or who are on Northampton’s permanent booking list; plus the top 6 points’ scorers from Saturday evening’s racing (other than those already seeded through); plus overseas drivers to bring the total number of cars in the race to 36.

If there are more overseas drivers booked than can be accommodated in the championship race, the current grading lists from both the Netherlands and Northern Ireland will be used to decide who is seeded; the top points scorers from each list taking precedence.

The make-up of the grid will be by public draw on Sunday morning outside the pit office.  All 36 qualifiers will be ‘in the hat’ and each driver, or his representative, will draw his grid position.

As at 10.00 a.m. Monday 10th July, the top 16 drivers from the current grading list who have already booked in are as follows:

16 Craig Wallace

629 Euan Millar

154 Mike Green

618 Ben Lockwood

127 Matt Stoneman

560 Luke Wrench

581 Dan Fallows

142 Jonathan Hadfield

184 Aaron Vaight

606 Andrew Palmer

3 Liam Rennie

542 Steven Gilbert

318 Leyton O’Reilly

828 Julian Coombes

801 Jack Cave

846 Ashley England

The drivers who are listed above are not guaranteed a seeding into the European Championship as bookings have not yet closed.  The list of eligible seeds will be drawn up on Friday, 14th July.  Any driver towards the top of the current grading list who wishes to be seeded directly into the championship race but has not yet made a booking, has until 9 a.m. on Thursday 13th July to do so.

Bookings may still be accepted for the meetings but any driver booking after 9 a.m. Thursday will have lost the opportunity to be seeded directly into the Euro.

This deadline applies equally to overseas and U.K. mainland registered drivers.
