Numbers & Averages:-

245 drivers raced in the seventh and last grading period of 2016, which contained 32 meetings.  The average car attendance across the 31 mainland U.K. meetings was 24.42 and there were 53 different race winners.  In total, 410 drivers have raced during the 2016 season.

The Best Attended Meetings for the Period were:-

Birmingham 12 Nov – 48 cars,  Coventry 22 Oct – 47 cars,  Belle Vue 6 Nov – 42 cars,  Stoke 16 Oct – 39 cars,  Taunton 25 Sep – 38 cars,  King’s Lynn 1 Oct – 38 cars.

Drivers with the Best Attendance Record for the Period were:-

7 Gordon Moodie – 15 app.,  16 Craig Wallace – 12 app.,  38 Dave Polley – 12 app.,  321 Holly Glen – 11 app.,  41 Dennis Middler – 9 app.,  250 Kyle Taylor – 9 app.,  590 David Sinclair – 9 app.

Top Scorers for the Period, by grade, were:-

White: 108 John Riley - 112 pts;  Yellow: 590 David Sinclair - 140 pts;  Blue: 581 Dan Fallows - 144 pts;  Red: 41 Dennis Middler - 156 pts;  S/S: 7 Gordon Moodie – 500 pts.

JJC Race & Rally 2016 Novice Of The Year

The Novice of the Year is open to ‘genuine’ novices, i.e. those who are in their first BriSCA F2 season and who started the season with a white roof.  The novice who has scored the most national points at the end of the season will be the winner of the Novice of the Year title.

2016 Top Three:

1. 590 David Sinclair – 266pts.

2. 250 Kyle Taylor – 263pts.

3. 418 Ben Borthwick – 174pts.

The winner will be presented with the Novice of the Year trophy at the NEC in January 2017.  The runner-up and the third place finisher will also receive trophies at that time.

David’s Observations

  • These grades will come into force on 1 January 2017.  The first grading period of season 2017 will run from 1 March to 15 April inclusive.
  • To be considered for downgrading on 1 May 2017, you must race a minimum of three times between 1 March and 15 April 2017.
  • As this is the final grading list of season 2016, all of the 410 drivers that have raced during the season are included.  However, those drivers who are currently inactive owing to retirement or suspension are shown in red in italic script.
  • International drivers and those drivers who are retired or suspended are shown on the grading list solely for information purposes.  Their inclusion has no effect on the grades of active drivers.  Points, appearances etc., are from meetings attended, that are on the National Fixture List.
