264 drivers raced in the opening grading period of 2017, which contained 30 meetings.  The average car attendance across those 30 meetings was 33.63 and there were 59 different race winners.

The Best Attended Meetings for the Period were:-

King’s Lynn 25 Mar – 65 cars,  King’s Lynn 4 Mar – 63 cars,  Northampton 14 Apr – 56 cars,  Mildenhall 1 Apr – 53 cars,  Stoke 11 Mar – 52 cars,  Belle Vue 19 Mar – 51 cars,  Stoke 15 Apr – 50 cars.

Drivers with the Best Attendance Record for the Period were:-

629 Euan Millar – 15 app.,  38 Dave Polley – 14 app.,  7 Gordon Moodie – 13 app.,  101 Kelvyn Marshall – 13 app.;  606 Andrew Palmer – 13 app.;  318 Leyton O’Reilly – 12 app.;  787 Ollie Hertzog – 12 app.

Top Scorers for the Period, by grade, were:-

2017 Novice Of The Year

The Novice of the Year is open to ‘genuine’ novices, i.e. those who are in their first BriSCA F2 season and who started the season with a white roof.  The novice who has scored the most national points at the end of the season will be the winner of the Novice of the Year title.

Current standings:

142 – 216 pts,629 – 214pts, 325 – 6pts, 540 – 3pts, 819 – 3pts, 71 – 2pts, 113 – 1pt, 398 – 1pt.

The winner will be presented with the Novice of the Year trophy at the NEC in January 2018.  The runner-up and the third place finisher will also receive trophies at that time.

David’s Observations

·        These grades will come into force on 1 May 2017.  The next grading period of season 2017 will run from 16 April to 20 May inclusive.

·        In order to be eligible for downgrading on 1 June 2017, you must race a minimum of three times between 16 April and 20 May and also have raced at least once between 1 March and 15 April.

·        International drivers are shown on the grading list solely for information purposes.  Their positions have no effect on grades.  Points, appearances etc., are from meetings attended, that are on the National Fixture List.
