Taunton Speedweekend Info 30 Sep and 1 Oct

The following information is of note for drivers ahead of the Speed-weekend at Taunton, when the Saloon Stock Cars World Championship is the feature event.

Friday 29 September

  • There is an Open Track session which will afford BriSCA F2s the chance of some track time from 6pm.
  • The cost is £40, discounted to £30 if booked in advance online.

  • When the Open Track session ends, there is a late bar in the marquee, and a live performance from Ultrabeat.
  • Public entry tickets for the Open Track session AND the Ultrabeat live performance are £10 per person.
    • Each BriSCA F2 driver will receive complimentary tickets in line with their licence/mechanics allocation.

Saturday 30 September

  • Gates open at 12 noon.
  • Open Practice is from 1.15pm to 2.30pm – a maximum of two runs per driver.
  • The Grand National Championship, sponsored by K B Valet Services, is the showpiece event for F2s.
  • The number of qualifiers for the race, and the format for the meeting, will be influenced by how many drivers are booked, which is why there is always the plea for drivers to book early.
  • BriSCA F2 drivers have until 9.00am on Monday 25 September to make their online booking via Digi Tickets to ensure they secure their place on the GNC grid.

  • The meeting final will be for the O’er The Border Trophy. There is a £100 bonus to the winner of the meeting final and each lap leader will collect a £5 bonus.
  • At the end of Saturday evening, race teams will be permitted to remain in situ in the pit area. This is on a trial basis, and teams are expected to behave respectfully and responsibly.

Sunday 1 October

  • Gates open at 10.30am.
  • There will be no practice.
  • The meeting features The Grader’s Award.
  • There is a £100 bonus to the winner of the meeting final.

    • Any white top race driver who wins a race on Sunday will win a brand new tyre.
    • If there are no white top race winners, two brand new tyres will be awarded.
    • One brand new tyre will be awarded to the top points scoring white top across all of Sunday’s races.
    • One brand new tyre will be awarded to the top points scoring white top across all of the whole weekend’s races (Saturday 30 September and Sunday 1 October).
